South Post-industrial Park

This large urban waterfront park is built on a 1.4-kilometer-long post-industrial waterfront in the southern industrial zone of Zhongshan City. The now-abandoned Meiyile Ice Cream Factory once produced the sweetness of Zhongshan citizens' childhood. The landscape design attempts to restore the health of the post-industrial waterfront, focusing on the following topics: trees, waterfronts, industrial plants, red bricks and villages.

The design starts from a large area of existing trees. The existing trees on the post-industrial site have unique tenacity. The landscape design follows the principle of ecological first come first serve. On the basis of retaining the existing trees, space is reserved for the root system of the plants, so that the water bank can return to a soft and green land base. . The current flood control wall was partially broken in the wind and feature construction, and the water and land ecology was completely reconstructed by setting up green terrain to enter the water. Together with our team of architects, we implanted new formats into abandoned industrial plants, which made the park gain a rare urban popularity. At the same time, we recycled a large number of red bricks left after the demolition of the existing villages, and laid waterfronts and squares. In the end, both the village and the factory were reborn and remained on this post-industrial waterfront.
